Why stay in the hotel room block? Organizations that contract for a room block for their meetings do so to ensure that there is sufficient meeting space, as well as guest rooms available for the event. Organizations, like the Academy, that make these commitments do so far in advance of the meeting and must meet certain minimum commitments to the hotel to meet the room block. If you’re attending the Academy’s Annual Meeting, reserving your room in the room block assists in making those commitments and keeping all facility costs associated with holding the meeting at reasonable costs. You’ll also be onsite for all breakout sessions and networking opportunities.
