Tomorrow at noon EDT—presenters will discuss the basic guidance in the ASOP and proposed changes.

ASOP No. 41, Actuarial Communications:
Your Feedback Matters

Sept. 30 | Noon to 1:30 p.m. EDT | USQS CE and JBEA CPE Available

One of the few actuarial standards of practice (ASOPs) that apply to every actuarial assignment for all practice areas—ASOP No. 41, Actuarial Communications—is being revised and is now open for comment. During this webinar, presenters will discuss the basic guidance in the ASOP as well as proposed changes, including:

  • Clarifications of key definitions;
  • Clarification of disclosure requirements that apply to all actuarial communications versus those that apply only to actuarial reports;
  • New guidance regarding the actuary opining on assumptions that do not conflict with what the actuary believes is reasonable;
  • Expanded guidance on constraints or circumstances that might reduce the required disclosures in an actuarial report or the need for an actuarial report; and
  • Expanded guidance regarding reliance on others.

Join us to hear more about actuarial communications, how these proposed changes may affect your work, and how you can submit comments.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

The American Academy of Actuaries believes in good faith that attendance at this live webinar constitutes an organized activity as defined under the current Qualification Standards for Actuaries Issuing Statements of Actuarial Opinion in the United States, and that attendees may earn up to 1.8 organized continuing education (CE) credits for attending this live webinar.

We also believe in good faith that Enrolled Actuaries may earn up to 1.8 core continuing professional education (CPE) credits under the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries (JBEA) rules for attending this live webinar. However, the JBEA ultimately determines what constitutes core, non-core, ethics, or non-ethics continuing education and the number of CPE credit hours allocated to same for Enrolled Actuaries.
