About the webcast

The webcast is designed to give participants a broader understanding of key issues involved in the principles-based initiative, with an additional focus on issues identified in a recent Tillinghast survey of life insurance CFOs. The webcast also includes:

  • Discussion of how the pricing process may change as a result of the principles-based approach
  • A review of key elements of proposed life reserve model regulations
  • A look at how the Academy proposal relates to international accounting and solvency projects
  • Discussion of the role of principles-based peer review and potential changes that may be needed at the NAIC to accommodate a principles-based approach to reserving and solvency testing
