The American Academy of Actuaries believes in good faith that this event constitutes an Organized Activity as defined by the current Qualification Standards. Under the Standards, a credit hour is determined to be 50 minutes and hourly fractions may be counted.

By attending the first three days of the 2009 seminar you could earn continuing education based upon the following hours of attendance and your area of practice:

  • 6.5 (general)
  • 6.25 (life)
  • 7.5 (health)
  • 2.25 (professionalism)

Passing the open-book exam would provide another 3.5 life and health hours.

In accordance with the U.S. Qualification Standards, you may earn the following continuing education credits, using a 50-minute credit hour formula:

  • 7.8 (general – applicable to life or health specialty)
  • 7.5 (additional life specialty)
  • 9.0 (additional health specialty)
  • 2.7 (professionalism)
