Terrorism Risk Insurance Subcommittee
This subcommittee has been charged with identifying actuarial issues raised by insuring the risk of terrorist events, which could generate extremely large property/casualty losses. Furthermore, the subcommittee identifies issues relevant to the treatment of such risks including sizing, insurability, pricing, funding, reserving, capital management, and loss mitigation. Included in the subcommittee’s charge is the monitoring of federal, state, and international terrorism insurance legislation. This subcommittee actively interfaces with the NAIC, NCOIL, and the GAO, among others, on these issues.
