Presented by the Academy's Council on Professionalism, this was the second of three similar webcasts designed to help actuaries prepare for the implementation of the revised Qualification Standards. About 500 actuaries participated.
The 90-minute webcast offered an overview of the revised Qualification Standards [2], focusing on important changes in the standards, as well as details for meeting the revised qualification requirements. The content and presentation of the webcast were similar to that of the first webcast [3] [4](Sept. 20, 2007) in the series, and the same speakers were featured:
The Academy believes, in good faith, that the Oct. 19, 2007, webcast on the revised Qualification Standards qualifies as a "recognized organized activity" under the Qualification Standards for Prescribed Statements of Actuarial Opinion currently in effect. Attendance at the Oct. 19, 2007, webcast may earn the participant 1.8 continuing education credits under the Qualification Standards for Prescribed Statements of Actuarial Opinion, depending upon the participant's practice area and other requirements set forth therein.
This webcast was cosponsored by the Conference of Consulting Actuaries, which is recognized by the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries as an approved CE provider. Attendance at the webcast may earn enrolled actuaries 1.8 EA core credits from the Conference.
During the webcast, participants were given the web address of an online form they could use to request an attendance certificate from the Conference. Registered participants also received an e-mail after the webcast that had a link to the form.
If you need additional information about the webcast, please contact Doreen Moaning by e-mail (moaning@actuary.org [5]) or phone (202.223.7859).
If you have questions about EA credit, please contact Matt Noncek at the Conference (mnoncek@ccactuaries.org).
