Support for the Academy's Social Security statement
A sample of the news coverage supporting the Academy's recommendation to raise the normal retirement age for Social Security.
In a position statement on the issue, the Academy urges policymakers to immediately address Social Security’s long-term actuarial imbalance by raising the retirement age to reflect increased longevity. The position statement was developed by the Academy’s Board of Directors and issued on behalf of the U.S. actuarial profession.
