Dear Academy Member,
As you may be aware, the Academy Board of Directors adopted at its October 28, 2011, meeting a policy that all Academy members who serve as members of any Academy committee (including boards, committees, sub-committees, work groups, task forces, etc.) be required to meet, and attest to compliance with, the continuing education requirements set forth in the U.S. Qualification Standards (CE). The first such attestation must be submitted no later than March 31, 2012 (see the prior notice). To assist Academy members who are retired or similarly situated meet the CE attestation requirement, the Academy has agreed to allow for the 2012 year free attendance to Academy sponsored (not jointly sponsored with other organizations) webinars, seminars, and other CE opportunities to qualified Academy members who serve on an Academy committee. To qualify for this complimentary CE you must be an Academy member who is a member of an Academy committee and also be qualified for either a partial or total dues waiver during the year 2012.
Further, in order to assist you in keeping track of your CE records, the Academy encourages you to utilize at no cost the TRACE CE tracking tool located at http://www.actuary.org/trace and on the Academy website.
