Election Reminder: Balloting for the Academy's online election for three regular directors to the board of directors and two proposed amendments to the Academy bylaws will continue until Sept. 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET. All Academy members whose dues for the current year have been paid in full as of July 14, 2011, are eligible to vote in this election. Members who have not yet received an email (or paper) ballot should request a replacement ballot by emailing elections@academy.org. For more information on the election, visit the Academy's Election Center.

The 2011 Academy Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon (Oct. 24) will feature a keynote address by statistician Nate Silver. Silver is the founder of fivethirtyeight.com, a political blog offering polling analytics. The Academy will announce the winners of the Jarvis Farley Service and Robert J. Myers Public Service awards, conduct the official transition to the new president, and introduce new leadership on the Academy's board of directors. This year's event is being held in conjunction with the Conference of Consulting Actuaries Annual Meeting. Learn more about the program and registration here.
