The Academy 2008 Annual Meeting is a two-hour luncheon meeting on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008.

It is being held in conjunction with the CCA's annual meeting, at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa on the Gulf Coast of Florida.


Registration

The Academy Annual Meeting is open to all Academy members.

Please note: If you have already registered for the CCA's annual meeting, your registration fee includes the Academy luncheon meeting on Monday.

If you will not be attending the CCA meeting, tickets to the Academy's luncheon meeting may be purchased online.

  • Tickets are $25 for Academy members, $60 for guests.

A limited number of tickets may be sold on site at the registration desk.


About the meeting

The 2008 Annual Meeting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27. It will include

  • Lunch at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point
  • Inaugural remarks by incoming Academy President John Parks
  • A keynote speech by Fox Business News anchor Stuart Varney
  • The presentation of the Jarvis Farley Service Award to an exceptional Academy volunteer
  • The presentation of the Robert J. Myers Public Service Award to an actuary who has made an exceptional contribution to the common good
  • The election of the new regular members of the Academy Board of Directors
  • An opportunity to network with your Academy peers

Keynote speaker

Stuart VarneyStuart Varney, a veteran business journalist, is a Fox Business News anchor and one of the founders of CNN. Educated at the London School of Economics, he won a Peabody Prize for his CNN coverage of the 1987 stock market crash and co-anchored CNN's Moneyline in the late 1990s. He joined Fox in 2003.
