Academy Alerts

These electronic publications provide timely summaries of major legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments affecting actuaries. They are offered only to Academy members.

Subscriptions to the Academy Alerts became a free membership benefit in January 2008. There are five kinds of Alerts:

• Casualty Alerts
• Health Alerts
• Life Alerts
• Pension Alerts
• General Alerts, covering multiple practice areas

Reading the Alerts

The Alerts are posted in the members-only section of this website, and Academy members can read the Alerts whenever they are logged in.

Prominent links to the Alerts are included on the member welcome page, the first page a member sees after logging in.

Subscribing to the Alerts

The Alerts are available online to all Academy members. Only subscribers are notified when a new Alert is posted in their area(s) of interest. Notifications are sent by e-mail.

The Alerts focus on five areas: health, life, casualty, and general insurance; and pensions. If you are an Academy member, you can subscribe to any or all of them. You can change or cancel your subscriptions at any time.
